Q&A Eco-schemes: what are the eco-schemes?

17 August 2021

Eco-schemes are interventions aimed at achieving the specific objectives linked to climate change and environmental landscape care (SO4-SO6 and SO 9). An eco-scheme can consist of one or several agricultural practices beneficial for the climate, the environment, animal welfare and antimicrobial resistance. Every State will create a list of agricultural practises that will be supported by eco-schemes. The practices included are organic farming practices, agro-ecology such as crop rotation with leguminous crops or low intensity grass-based livestock system, but also carbon farming and precision farming.
